Archaeology Notes

NR64NW 26 6427 4818.

(NR 6418 4813) Anderson (1939) records that several cists were discovered during quarrying operations on the summit of Cnoc na Carraigh, immediately east of the cottages at Keil, but there are no visible remains.

R S G Anderson 1939; RCAHMS 1971.

Quarry pits immediately to the N of the Ogam-inscribed stone (NR64NW 2) at NR 6427 4818 are probably those referred to above. No further information.

Visited by OS (J B) 17 January 1978.
