Archaeology Notes

NR65SW 1 649 509

NR 649 509. The capstone of what may possibly be a cist is reported, by John MacDonald of Drumyeonmore, on the eastern shoulder of Creag Bhan. The field was sown, and it was not possible to make an examination in April.

W D Lamont 1960.

Subsequent investigation has shown that the flat slab discovered in 1960 in the corner of a field 550m NW of Druimyeon More farmhouse is not the cap-stone of a cist, as was thought possible at the time, but a natural boulder.

RCAHMS 1971, visited 1963.

No change to RCAHMS report.

Visited by OS (J M) 20 January 1978.
