A group of tumuli once existed in Glen Cloy (NS 00 35). Pennant's (1774) description of them reads 'In Glencloy, a plain, are five earthen tumuli, placed in a row, with another on the outside of them: on the top of one is a depression, or hollow (M'Arthur {1873} alleges this was a bowl barrow); on that of another is a circle of stones, whose ends just appear above the earth'.

Part of the rim of a cinerary urn, found under a tumulus at Glen Cloy, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1863 by Dr Jamieson, Brodick. (Accession Number EA 79).
