Archaeology Notes

NS24NW 31 215 460

Gourock Mill stood between Kirkland (NS 219 460) and Glenhead (NS 213 458). Nearly all traces of it have gone apart from vestiges of its dams and lades. Nothing remains of the clachan which stood beside the mill. Spindle whorls have been occasionally found in the vicinity.

J Lamb 1896.

No trace. Kirkland Glen is steep and wooded, and the surrounding area is heavily cultivated.

Visited by OS (JRL) 11 November 1982.
