Archaeology Notes

NS32NE 13 350 264

See also NS32NE 4.

Some of the earlier entries in Prestwick burgh records mention a St Nicholas's Well, and there is still the Lady Well (not now in use) behind the Kirk knoll. (Prestwick parish church, dedicated to St Nicholas, stands on a mound at NS 350 264: see NS32NE 4).

K Hewat 1908

No further information on either name (one and the same?) There is no trace or local knowledge of a spring around St Nicholas's Church.
