OS 25" map (1856)

Dalmellington church stood on the spot now occupied by the burial place of the Craigengillan family. Its ruins were removed some 30 years ago (J Paterson 1847). This church was replaced in 1766 by one at NS 4806 0595, which in turn was abandoned in 1846 when the present one was built, at NS 4805 0608.

Name Book 1856

The mausoleum of the Craigengillan family stands at NS 4805 0579, in the centre of the graveyard. No trace of the church was found.
