Archaeology Notes

NS75NW 31 726 566

A medieval sword 1.12m long and datable to c. 1350-1400 was found buried in sand in Hamilton Low Parks, on the left bank of the River Clyde. The grip has gone, but the blade and cross survive in good condition.

It is now in Glasgow Art Gallery and Museum.

J G Scott 1973.
