Archaeology Notes

NS80SW 4 c. 840 001.

A bronze patera, tinned inside, measuring 6 1/2" across and 4" deep, with a short straight handle, was ploughed up on Auchenskeoch farm (NS 8401 0011). Two goblets and two bronze plates, said to have accompanied the find, were destroyed.

The patera was in Thornhill Museum, but has been transferred to Dumfries Museum.
