Currie Bridge is a very old bridge of single span, narrow on the top. It is said to have stood upwards of 500 years.

Name Book 1852; NSA 1845 (T Barclay)

Only the post-1896 bridge remains, but the site is known to be pre-1666.

He comments upon: Crucifix or Altar Candlestick found in Currie churchyard:Heraldic slabs at Malleny House and those taken from Corstorphine Church in 1828 and built into the extension to Hermiston House, home of John Burn, architect.
