(NT 4606 6158) Johnstounburn: About 1730 the original modest house, possibly of the 17th century, was given a two-storey jamb with rusticated quoins. In 1863 it was extended towards the burn with a turretted and battlemented block like a tower house, dominating the rest. The old garden front was improved by Leadbetter and Fairley in 1895.
