NT53SE 20.8 570 344

Material from Newstead (grid reference NT 570 344 given in Catalogue) in Wilton Lodge Museum, Hawick, comprises: a mortarium body fragment (HAKMG 4311); a red samian sherd from a decorated vessel (HAKMG 4312); a body sherd from a pottery vessel (HAKMG 4313); 13 small finds picked up after ploughing between 1960 and 1969 including a lead plum bob, a knife (iron blade in bone handle), a blue glass bead and a fragment of a blue glass armlet (HAKMG 4343). Further pottery, iron objects etc. are noted as 'Unprovenanced (probably Newstead)' - Acc Nos. HAKMG 4315-27, 4330-4342. Museum Catalogue 1981.
