Archaeology Notes

NT57SW 39 c. 517 735.

On 11 June 1478 an indenture is made between the Greyfriars of Haddington and John Haliburton, vicar of Greenlaw concerning an almshouse erected by him in the Poldrait of Haddington (Poldrate: name NT 517 735). Its history is totally unknown.

Field Visit (1997 - 2001)

Derek Hall managed an Historic Scotland funded project to record medieval hospital sites in Scotland. Gazetteers were produced for each regional council area between 1997 and 2001 with an overall review in 2001.
