Archaeology Notes

NT83SW 11. c 801 317.

Hoselaw Tower, in 1654, stood close by the chapel NT83SW14). Its remains were visible until well into the 19th century.

There is no local knowledge of the site of Hoselaw Tower and no remains could be found. The only reference to a tower is on an estate plan of Hoselaw Bank, dated 1820-21.

The name 'Tower Park' is centred at NT 8017 3176, about 20m. NE of Hoselaw Chapel. (Information from Miss M Somervail, Hoselaw, nr Kelso Roxburgh).
