NX 133 313. There is a standing stone in the NW corner of the field that lies on the W side of Mull Glen, 100 yds from the W wall of the field and 58 yds from the N wall. It is embedded in the ground at an angle of 30 and measures 5'4" by 1'10" by 1'. This stone may be the sole surviving member of a stone circle or of the facade of a long cairn since the initial sector of the modern wall running S from the NW corner of the field is built of similar large stones, some 20 in number.
RCAHMS TS 25 September 1953
NX 1338 3126. A split granite slab as described. There is no evidence to associate this with either a stone circle or a long cairn.
Surveyed at 1:2500.
Visited by OS (DWR) 7 February 1972
There is a possible standing stone in the field on the W side of Mull Glen, about 850m SE of West Cairngaan farmhouse. The stone leans at an an angle of about 30 degrees to the horizontal and measures about 0.55 by 0.3m and 1.6m in length (RCAHMS Survey of Marginal Lands). The field was in crop at the date of visit and the stone could not be examined closely, but there is no reason to believe that it was once part of a stone circle or a long cairn.
