Archaeology Notes

NG35SE 14 397 518.

Situated on the east bank of the River Treaslane are faint traces of a dun. It occupies a promontory and measures 16m NW/SE x 12m NE/SW with a drop of 8m to the sea below on all sides except the southern. Remains of a stone walling 0.2m in height are visible at the north and east, but to the west the perimeter survives only as a grass-covered bank. The faint indications of an entrance lies at the south and here the perimeter is revetted.

Visited by M A Nicolson January 1990.
