Archaeology Notes

NT07SE 42 094 745

In the hollow S of Hawk Hill, on the slope descending the slight hillock on the N side of the Niddry Burn, are at least ten rigs. These seem to have been about 10m wide, though damaged by the 17th century landscaping and the embankment for the railway carrying oil shale.
