Activities

Excavation (1990)

NT17NE 84 c. 1895 7695

To the N of Cramond Roman fort (NT17NE 3.00), variations in spring growth in 1990 revealed the outline of a rectangular structure, measuring approximately 10.5m by 5.5m, probably a remnant of the 1826 destruction of the village. A D-shaped, stone-lined well was also recorded; the top was 0.5m by 0.8m and the visible depth was 2m, with an aperture in the straight side. No water was seen.
