PA 124/23V 'Scottish National War Memorial, Edinburgh Castle' Photograph Album no 124: Vivian Beesly's Book p.23v Black hard-backed notebook with cloth spine and line pages, inscribed in pencil on title page 'Easter 1928, Vivian Beesly, (born July 1915) containing a written account of her 'tour of parts of North England and Scotland' followed by professional photographs and postcards.     
PA 134 PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO.134: DUNARA CASTLE Four grey pages from a cord-bound photograph album (190 x 275 mm), thirteen cream, blue, white and pink pages from a gilt edged autograph album (215 x 165 mm), an envelope containing small photographs and a few loose photographs, three of them portraits - all in a 1974 card calendar folder. Mostly pictures from a cruise in 1929 on the ship "Dunara Castle" to the Hebrides and Western Isles, belonging to the mother of T A Parkes (who gave these to NTS for disposal) - she probably came from the West of Scotland (Glasgow portrait photographers c.1900-10). Pictures show the ship, passengers, crew and scenes of places they visited including the MacLeod of MacLeod, and fisher girls in Scalpay. There is a picture of Gillespie Manse, Biggar and a miniature horseshoe "made by the blacksmith at the Clachan at the Glasgow Exhibition, 1938."    1929  
PA 191/5/1 Page 5: "The Scottish War Memorial" PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM NO 191: THE HONEYMOON TOUR IN SCOTLAND 1929 Black album containing 24 black card pages. The front cover has embossed title "Photographs" with a small embossed landscape. Inside the back cover is a vertical slot for negatives or loose prints and pasted in at bottom left is a label "The Oban Album no S274, Johnson, London". Page 1 is titled "The Honeymoon Tour in Scotland, Sept. 23rd to Oct. 5th 1929" and inside the front cover is a wedding photograph -"leaving St Pete's Aintree". The tour was made in a bull-nosed Morris (?) towing a caravan, visiting Edinburgh and the Trossachs before returning via the Lake District. The photographs include many professional views-JV (John Valentine).
