The former Manse, 1790; enlarged 1889 A modest version of its counterpart on Barra (1816), built in the format of a Georgian farmhouse, but more generously scaled, with a projecting square stairtower to the rear. Typically, it fronts a walled garden enclosure beside a stand of old trees.

1889 alterations: Sydney Mitchell & Wilson

Site Management (21 October 1998)

Former harled manse of 1790, enlarged into 2 storeys with attic in 1889 by Sydney Mitchell and Wilson. The south elevation extends to 3 bays with flanking 2 bay wings to the east and west. The centre door is framed by a square piended porch with side entrance and later bipartites. The north elevation features a projecting 3 storey stairwell with a window to each floor.
