Field Visit (23 June 1927)

Guthrie's House, Cairds Wynd, Anstruther Easter.

In Cairds Wynd is a three-storeyed harled house of the late 16th century. The western gable, crow-stepped at the top, is intaken at the lower part of the north-west angle beneath an elaborate corbelling so as to increase the passage way. On the south wall a small turret-stair is corbelled out. Internally the house has been modernised.

RCAHMS 1933, visited 23 June 1927.

Photographic Survey (July 1963)
