Accessing Scotland's Past Project

No 45 The Square occupies part of a three-storeyed tenement built around 1830. The original design had a symmetrical facade, though this symmetry has now been partially lost by the insertion of late nineteenth-century and modern shop fronts into the ground floor. The original design appears to have featured a row of pilasters running along the ground floor, remnants of which can be seen at the door.
