Lomond Bridge [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1992.

Lomond Bridge, Lomond Road. By engineers Blyth and Blyth, 1933-4. Three spans on segmental-arched plated steel girders with lattice cross-bracing. Red sandstone abutments, deep piers with segmental-arched openings and advanced prow-like cutwaters. Cast-iron lamp standards.

This bridge carries Lomond Road, Balloch, over the River Leven, at the S end of Loch Lomond and a short distance below Balloch Bridge (NS38SE 22).

The location assigned to this record defines the centre of the structure.
